major hail storm

Hi! all! Haven't posted for a while because very busy and actually sick of the computer. I have sold a few of my Nappernoos from my eBay store "NANNY AND POPPY STUFF".That is encouraging but yet I need to sell sell sell. http://www.nappernoo.com/. You will not believe the hail storm that we had on June 21. I have never seen so much hail that my hubby had to shovel the walk. It was amazing. I got to practice with my video camera and really capture a close up view. I zoomed in(stupid) and did not zoom out for a long time. I almost ruined it but finally in the end you can see the action. See the pics!! My feet were freezing. It totally destroyed all my perennials (which are plants that come up every year) ripped their leaves to shreds and now I do not feel like weeding a garden of ripped plants which will not bloom this year. As for the 4Th of July, we went fishing on beautiful lake Huron(nothing) went to garage sales and pigged out a Hungry Howie's. They know us so well there that they ask which pizza to make on our way in. As I consume 3/4 of a pizza, Hubby can consume 2 or maybe 3 on a good day!! He says he now has the 3/4 rule. Only 1 and 3/4 and then stop. We get our 5.99 worth when we eat there. I do not think that they make a cent of money. Everything is great in northern Michigan. The sky is blue. The birds are singing, and all in good health. Happy July!!!!

Trying to market a product

I keep saying hanging in there and hoping that a company will see it and want it. I hope that moms and dads with forget the McDonald's and buy one of these for their kids. this is vacation time. kids need these. Of course, with gas prices people aren't traveling as much. Road construction

As I sit in my house today I hear the noises of trucks roaring their engines on the 2 lane highway at the end of my driveway. As I walk the 5Th mile trek to get my mail, I see several cars backed up as they wait for 20 min for the 2 cars coming 1 mile down the road. Doesn't the highway department have a rule for highways with the total of 100 cars that pass in a 24 hr. period. For goodness sakes, this is not Chicago, or Detroit. Give me a break. Common sense is not something people seem to have any more. As I sat in my sewing room today,making the one and only NAPPERNOO I Listened as the news said that an old fashioned fun slide in England was going to be torn down because IT DOESN'T MEET STANDARDS OF SAFETY.How ridiculous is that. My goodness, how many times did you get hit in the head or fall off a slide when you were a kid. This world is going green and stupid!!!!! www.nappernoo.com

Birthday bash

Well today was my birthday and we went to town, bought groceries, and went to Hungry Howie's for their lunch buffet. That is all you can eat pizza with all you can drink pop. I am not complaining. Hubby and I can put away a bunch of food and going to a fancy restaurant with a serving as big as your fist, would not do. We tried to go fishing but the black sky's were lurking to pounce the minute we got 5 miles out. I freak when I see lightning on the water so the ride back to shore is a bit unpleasant for hubby. One time he came home and couldn't hear for 2 days. We hope to try the fishing thing tomorrow if weather permits. My birthday was rather pleasant but as time goes on it goes faster. My grandma used to tell me that and I just laughed and thought grandma was getting senile. My children have started remembering my birthday every year now, since they think my time on this earth is limited. I get cards, flowers, gift cards and much acknowledgement. I feel so special. Having dial up it takes me 4 times as long to do anything. getting stuck is a household word, computer savvy I am not. What is a link?? Can I get someone link me up with a million dollar company!! I did ride my bike 5 miles today before the thunderstorm hit. Try using dial up during a rain cloud. My goodness, you would thing there is a hurricane. Will I ever be sorry I invented something. garage sales

Well I did it. Got the hubby to go tour the town of people who hoarded so much junk that driveways were scattered with items bought on qvc, used once and placed in that dusty crawlspace to rot. As we browsed and looked for that SPECIAL item, the people rushed ahead of us to make sure they got it first, whatever it was. Will you take a buck, they say and then when refused get disgusted and walk away. It is a garage sale for God's. sake We found a few items and then pushed on. After the purchase of a shopvac for 5 bucks and a coach purse( I didn't know what coach was until I looked it up.) I bought it for 5 bucks also. good deal for a coach purse., we moved on swerving to avoid the millions of people crossing the road. On to another and then another. Please let this be over. Enough is enough. Too many people looking for that special 50 cent item. The crazys have all come out!!! I went back later for that 5 cent deal. My God I need to read more!!!!

Freaky friday

Just got over a bad storm with a very dark sky.It rained like crazy and the wind was strong. Didn't lose power though, like we do every other week. We can lose power when it is foggy. We have a generator but the thing is so loud that we have to wear earplugs to WATCH TV. My little town tomorrow is having it's annual garage sale! Yahoo!! The joys of marching around town looking at somebody Else's junk!! I find a little something once in a while. My main house is leftovers from grandmas, mothers, mothers-in-law and garage sales. Come on in and buy my couch for 5.00 silverware,glasses even those dried flowers in the corner. Yuk!! REDECORATE!!!!! Must tie down the hatches. A storm is coming from the south.

how do I get rid of crab grass? yuk?

I was working in my flower garden that is way beyond what I should have. Crab grass galore and I hoe and hoe and hoe , get done and look at it in a proud manner, and that CRAB GRASS is again sticking up though all my plants. How in the heck do I get rid of it. No fishing today because the wind is prob 30 miles an hour and the waves will be soooo big. Should have gone this morning when it was calm. Maybe tomorrow. Everything is green and full from the rain last night and it is another beautiful day in northern MI. www.nappernoo.com

I gotta start somewhere

Living in a small town can be challenging. For one thing starting a blog with dial up is awful. We don't have cable here and sat. is too expensive right now so live with it. I am pretty good with a PC though, for a country bumpkin. I live on 10 beautiful acres and my house is buried in the woods. I live only four miles from town if we need some supper. Sometimes my hard working husband grabs from the cubboard and hopes for the best. We work hard though. I have a product that I am trying to market which is quite a challenge. I don't know if you have ever invented something before, but it takes years. I am getting a patent so that money is gone now and hopefully it will be worth it some day. I will mention my website in every blog I write in between stories about fishing, dogs, grand kids,and the great outdoors. I will be writing a lot about fishing because I plan to do a lot of it.
